The two-piece roof is made entirely from carbon fiber using various technologies such as RTM and Forged Composite®. These technologies guarantee maximum aesthetic performance and stiffness although each component is extremely light, weighing less than 6 kg.

BMW and Zagato are in collaboration again at the 2012 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with the result of just six weeks worth of master craftsmanship from BMW and Zagato, the BMW Zagato Roadster is a natural progression from the BMW Zagato Coupé.

Most of the design cues have been carried across from the BMW Zagato Coupé, which leaves the rear undergoing most of the transformation.

The defined rear of the Zagato is made prominent from a seamless panel where all the light clusters are hiding underneath.

2013 Jaguar F-type Roadster – Spyshots

These are the latest and first unofficial spy shots of the Jaguar F Type V6 prowling around the B-Roads in the Midlands UK.

Jaguar plans to launch the roadster in early 2013, priced around the £45,000, followed by an F-type coupe about a year later.

The F-type will be the first model to use the all new 3.0-litre V6 Supercharged petrol engine.

The new quad cam 3.0 litre V6 petrol engine is derived from Jaguar’s existing 5.0-litre V8 taking away 2 combustion chambers, variable valve timing and aluminium construction of the eight. It also includes stop-start and drives through an eight-speed ZF automatic.

The exact capacity of the F-type’s new V6 is 2.9l which will be force fed by the the Roots-type twin-vortex supercharger, giving it an impressive 375bhp and 339lb ft lb of torque.

This will propel the car 0-60 in under 4.5 seconds and propel itself to around 180mph.

MINI will unveil the new MINI Roadster, the first open-top two-seater in the MINI model range, at the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) 2012 in Detroit tomorrow.

A contemporary take on the compact, open-top sports car concept, the MINI Roadster boasts advanced drive and chassis technology including active spoiler, and a classical, manually operated soft-top roof which can be opened and closed quickly and easily.

Today we spotted the strange but intriguing prototype from Roding Automobile.

The Roding is a two-seater mid-engine sports cars with carbon fiber chassis and a powerful turbo engine. Due to consistent lightweight in connection with the compact six-cylinder engine for maximum driving dynamics and performance is achieved.

A strong character design and sporty driving characteristics – a Roding based only on your personal needs. Self-confident, modern and spirited is the unique vehicle concept sets new standards in the roadster segment.

The uncompromising agility and powerful occurrence to make the experience a most individual way of German engineering and innovative lightweight and not least automotive enthusiasm. For each Roding in modern manufacturing hand-made and customizable on request in detail.

The car is powered by a Turbo Powered Ford 5 cylinder engine (Focus ST) which delivers more than 300ps and 400nm of fun delivered to the rear wheels the weight is an impressive 900kg thanks to the carbonfibre construction.

This means a power to weight ratio of nearly 3kg per HP, What do you think????

The Pistonspy caught a new set of images of the upcoming facelifted 2011 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster.  The car, tested probably by the ADAC 24h driver testing many of the racing equipment currently on the V12 Vantage.

There is no news on what is powering the car but it sounded like a v8 compared to the Rapide spotted on the same day and the gear changes didnt seem to be as fluid as the v12 model even though it sounded legendary.

It also seems to have a lower splitter than the previous model and sits lower to the ground.

The facelifted 2011 Aston Martin Vantage Roadster is expected to go on sale this year.
