BMW X5 Spied Testing In Northern Sweden
Posted by: | CommentsThe next generation BMW X5 has been spied winter testing in Sweden.
The F15 X5 will be based on a lighter chassis along with sleeker looks and matched with a range of engines with better fuel economy over the current model.
Powering this new range of X5 will be a range of turbocharged engines, including the usual 6 cylider engines and perhaps a turbocharged v8 in the X5M.
This is unlikely to be in production until early 2014 so we expect to see this through the year in different stages of undress.

BMW Concept C & E Scooters Production Prototypes.
Posted by: | CommentsHere are some of the clearest pictures indicating that both the BMW C & E concept scooters are finally production prototypes.
The Concept C (Commuter) has a brand new twin cylinder engine with CVT transmission rumoured to be a 650cc.
The styling takes cues from across the BMW range (the aluminium side pods are like a GS, also features a twin-tipped front spoiler like the S 1000 RR, but with a new look deliberately designed to stand out from existing scooter designs.
The Concept e is a vision:
BMW Motorrad designers have developed the style and shaping of the e-scooter of the future – electric, digital, dynamic. The designers deliberately allowed themselves plenty of freedom so as to be able to strike out new, creative paths in the design of components and surfaces.
For the power electronics and battery technology, BMW Motorrad draws on the innovative e-technology and extensive expertise of the BMW Group.
BMW i high voltage technology (> 60 volts) with the very highest safety standards enables electrically powered vehicles to equal the acceleration rates of a maxi scooter with combustion engine.
No words of specs or performance figures and could wear the same I series moniker as the I8 Etc…..
BMW F32 4 Series Coupe – Spyshots
Posted by: | CommentsHere are the latest spy shots of the 3 Series coupe which is rumoured to be the 4 series.
Hiding under the heavy camouflage you can see the design cues from the 6 series coupe and the Hofmeister kink will be hidden somewhere under the camouflage.
The Coupe is rumoured to sport the new engines as the 3 series saloon, and probably end up with another M Powered Variant.
We expect the car to lose some of the camouflage late 2012 and possibility for a Production Concept to be shown Early 2013.
BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe Spied in Munich
Posted by: | CommentsThese spyshots show that BMW has an answer for the Audi A7 and the Mercedes CLS.
This is the new Gran Coupe, the firm’s four-door version of the 6 Series sporting the M Sports Pack.
M Division has come up with a subtle body with a more aggressive front bumper, incorporating larger vents and a deeper chin, as well as a redesigned rear bumper which continues the theme from the revised side skirts.
First revealed at the Beijing last year, the new model has appeared on German Autobahn unchanged from the original ‘production concept’ that previewed it.
Apart from some of BMW’s usual 3M Camouflage tape on the front and rea quarter, this prototype shows that the new model is an elegant addtion to the 6 series cars.
Expect some splattering of M Brand throughout the trimmings in the M Sports Pack
At the front is the traditional kidney grille flanked by aggressive LED headlights. In profile, all the BMW hallmarks are present and correct – there are short overhangs front and rear, a long wheelbase and a coupe-like roofline which is a full 10cm lower than a 7 Series. The C-pillar features the latest interpretation of the Hofmeister kink, which will be outlined in chrome on the finished car.
Inside, expect BMW to offer a spacious rear seat layout with just two seats, allowing occupants to stretch out in more comfort. Just like the 6 Series two-door coupe and convertible, the Gran Coupe will get the same range of engines too, including BMW’s latest direct injection 3.0-litre turbo petrol and diesel engines, as well as a flagship V8 petrol.
The Gran Coupe is set to be unvailed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September with sales starting 2012. Prices will kick off at around £45,000.
BMW FAST Spyshot of the first BMW engineered FWD
Posted by: | CommentsAfter the new shared front wheel drive platform between Mercedes and BMW fell through, and the Mercedes B-Class Proto allready in latter stages of development.
BMW have shown us the replacement for the current 1 series, which will be promoted to the 2 series moniker.
The BMW FAST, as it has been named internally, is based on the new UKL1 platform and is expected to come in front-wheel drive and rumour has it four-wheel drive form (HYBRID?).
The new model is set to rival the likes of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class/B-Class as well as the Audi A3.
The BMW FAST will hit the streets sometime in 2013.
Trilogy of BMW 1M Wrecks – Poland – Switzerland – South Korea
Posted by: | CommentsWe all know the BMW 1M is one of the best M powered cars to come from Munich since the e30 M3.
It looks like the BMW 1M Coupe is becoming a world wide handfull as the marque has allready come unstuck in three different continents.
Just hope we dont see any more of these in the coming weeks.

BMW I8 & I3 World Premier – Munich 29/07/2011

i3 -Mega City Concept
Originally named as the MegaCity concept, the BMW i3 will be the first vehicle produced under the i brand when it arrives next year. Two structures make up both the i3 and i8′s LifeDrive architecture – predictably, the Life aand Drive modules.
As its name would suggest, the Life part of the equation is what contains the driver and passengers, and the platforms have been individually developed for each model. In the case of the i3, a lightweight body structure is made up of a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber-reinforced plastics, with the Drive module mounted underneath, obviating the need for a transmission tunnel and allowing BMW to install two bench seats for four occupants in the front and back while providing 200 liters (7.06 cubic-feet) of storage.
Underneath that lightweight body lies the Drive system, comprised of the suspension, battery and drivetrain, along with structural and safety components. A liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery back spans the undercarriage and supplies juice to an electric motor mounted directly above the rear-drive axle. Yup, this a rear-wheel-drive EV hatchback, with the motor putting out 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque through a single-speed gearbox. BMW claims the i3 can reach an electronically limited top speed of 93 miles per hour and make the run from 0-60 in under eight seconds.
An available PRO ECO mode tweaks the throttle and electronics to boost efficiency, and braking regeneration feeds kinetic energy back into the battery pack. Remarkably, BMW also claims that you can charge the battery back to full in six hours using a standard power socket and the i3′s batteries can get to 80 percent in one hour using a high-speed charger (we’ll be getting more details on both very soon).
i8 – Vision Concept
This car was first released in 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show as the Vision Concept and was spied in Northern Sweden in 2010-2011 (Yellow Snow Edition)
Unlike the standard i3, the i8 will be a plug-in hybrid, with a turbocharged, 1.5-liter three-cylinder powerplant mounted up front and putting out 220 hp and 221 lb-ft of torque. Combined with the electric motor, the run from 0-60 mph is claimed to blow by in under five seconds, with fuel consumption estimated at three liters per 100 kilometers and seven liters per 100 clicks when driven like… well, a BMW.
The three-pot works in tandem with a lithium-ion battery pack and front-mounted electric motor pulled from the i3 and driving the front wheels, allowing an electric-only range of up to 20 miles on a charge. Put both systems together and you’ve got a front-wheel-drive vehicle for maximum efficiency, a rear-driver for maximum fun and all-wheel drive for maximum grip. And if that isn’t enticing enough, the i8 has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution.
