Got an email of my good friend Steve Cotton from Cotton Competition who happens to be working for the New Zealand WRC rally team.
So thought I would show you the videos from the teams perspective and perhaps pretty apt to celebrate New Zealands Gracious win at the Rugby World Cup.

Subaru BRZ Production Prototype Spyshots
Posted by: | CommentsThe Subaru BRZ is edging closer to a final production prototype, We recently spied the new pictures of the highly-anticipated Subaru FT-86 variant the BRZ.
The car will be exclusively Rear Wheel Drive.
Caught undergoing testing near the Nürburgring, the heavily camouflaged prototype looks virtually identical to the Toyota FT-86 but is distinguished by a revised front bumper and LED daytime running lights.
The BRZ measures 4.2m in length, 1.8m wide and stands 1,3m high.
The rear-wheel drive (RWD) sports coupe will also feature Toyota’s direct-injection technology, called D-4S, the naturally-aspirated 2.0 litre horizontally-opposed Boxer engine is touted to have 200bhp.

Subaru 0846 Variant of the Ft-86 Spyshots
Posted by: | CommentsToday the Subaru version of the Toyota-Subaru co-operation FT-86 has arrived to the Nürburgring in Germany for some track testing.
The two manufacturers are collaborating on a shared four-cylinder sports car that will be sold in two versions, beginning near the end of 2011, both sporting rear wheel drive for the purists.
Even if the Subaru version is very look-a-like to the Toyota/Scion there are some smaller changes. The rear side window for example. And in case with this prototype it is wearing MZ- numberplates, meaning its coming from the German Subaru test centre.
Toyota FT-86 Spotted close to the Nurburgring
Posted by: | CommentsThe Toyota FT-86 is getting closer to the production ready prototypes.
Even though the car is heavily camouflaged you can still see the form of the car, which seems to be a compromise of the ft-86 Concepts.
The 200hp rear-wheel drive car will be powered by a 2.0 liter boxer engine. It will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and a six-speed semi-auto will be available.
Set to be unveiled at the Frankfurt IAA.
Toyota and Subaru’s FT86 Spyshots at the Nurburgring
Posted by: | CommentsThe future Subaru FT-86 sports car has been caught testing again, this time at the Nurburgring in Germany. Even though the driver was aggresively avoiding the camera of our spy photographer he was able to get these shots.
Rumour has it, the future Subaru sports car will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, a variation of the engine used in the Impreza WRX STI, and not the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat four engine previously rumoured. The engine will still produce 280hp which is much more powerful than its Toyota sibling that will only deliver 200 HP. Both models, however, will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox.
As for its design, it is hinted that the Subaru sports coupe will take its design features from the hatchback, in particular at the front end, but with a more aggressive detailing. Both cars will be unique in styling due to their own bumpers, front grilles, and wheels, but they will, however, share similar body panels and obviously the chassis.
It is difficult to speculate on the detailing differences as it is still under heavy camouflage.

Fastest Subaru WRX STI Ever #nurburgring 7:55
Posted by: | CommentsAfter 2 months of intensive testing and track development Subaru have officially released the video of some of the Development carried out at the Nurburgring’s racetrack in Germany, the car was rumoured to be the Spec C version of the Sedan this turned out to be false, but it has obviously adopted some of the tooling used on the JDM Spec Cars.
Using a 2011MY Subaru WRX STI 4-door (sedan) test prototype. Subaru has been using the famous Nordschleife course since 1992 for advanced Research & Development as well as tests of the WRX and WRX STI models.
The concept of the 2011MY WRX STI is “The Fastest WRX STI Ever.” At Subaru, the phrase “Fastest” refers to more than just top speed or maximum engine output. It implies driving with confidence. The WRX STI can be taken to its “fastest ever” performance by providing the driver with total driving control with confidence. Major upgrades to the 2011MY WRX STI focused on the chassis and suspension set-up, and tests at the Nurburgring demonstrated the supreme overall dynamics and linear behavior of the new STI. Tommi Makinen, the legendary four-time World Rally Champion, piloted the test vehicle for the development. He commented, “The car was controllable with precise and faithful handling even on tricky corners. I could easily predict the car’s behavior. That is exactly what Subaru is offering, confidence. As a result, the 2011MY WRX STI test vehicle recorded 7’55”00, Subaru’s fastest lap time ever, which is 4 seconds faster than the previous fastest time recorded in 2004.”
The 2011MY WRX STI 4-door will go on sale world-wide this summer. Upgrades to the 4-door version will be carried over to the 5-door model and expect the usual JDM and Spec models towards the 4th quarter 2010.

Subaru STI Saloon Hotlapping the #Nurburgring

The STI will recieve suspension tweaks including thicker anti-roll bars front and rear together with stiffer poly bushes and springs to handle the additional weight,Also a revised spoiler will be added to increase rear downforce.
Isnt it a surprise seeing this after the press release from ford about the RS500 Focus.
