Pagani Zonda F Crashes in Italy @198mph
Posted by: | CommentsOne thing we all hate seeing is a wrecked exotic, this unfortunate was one of the great creations from Marinello based Pagani.
According to the Italian publication Il Secolo XIX, the driver of a Pagani Zonda lost about 1.2 million euros two nights ago when he crashed his handmade exotic at 198.8 mph.
The driver, a 28-year-old with German citizenship and Monaco plates, was hurtling through Italy on the way to Genoa when he lost control and struck the guardrail at the side of the road.
The Impact and forces under such speeds usually leads to a fatality, but due to the strength of the Carbon Fibre Chassis of the V12 powered Zonda the passenger cell remained intact.
Driver reportedly walked away from the crash unaided.

Pagani Zonda R – Video Commentary by Horacio Pagani at the Nürburgring
Posted by: | CommentsThis week Pagani have released a documentory interview with Horacio Pagani along with the cockpit video following the record breaking lap of the Pagani Zonda R at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the most advanced track for testing mechanical stress.
The final laptime was 6:47,5 min for the 20,832 km race track in Germany.
Driven by Marc Basseng, the Zonda R beat the previous lap record of 6 minutes 48 seconds set by Michael Vergers in the Radical SR8LM.
The 1,070 kilogram Zonda R features a Mercedes-sourced 6.0-liter V12 engine which has been tuned to produce 740 hp and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to thrust from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.7 seconds, before reaching a Vmax at 351 km/h (218 mph) with its current gearing setup.
Priced from €1.5 million, only 15 Zonda Rs were produced.

The guy’s from Sport Auto and the team from Pagani have released the Zonda R Lap record video driven by Marc Basseng.
The Zonda R is powered by a V12 AMG engine that delivers 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 524 lb. ft. of torque. Although it looks like other Zondas, this only uses ten percent of the Zonda F components. New parts include a suspension forged in Avional (aluminum alloy), a new Pagani six-speed transversal sequential gearbox, and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The Zonda R will be limited to only 10 units each sold out but im sure after you handover the cash the italian automark will build one for you.
The Video of the lap record is more of a marketing video than a simple lap record cockpit camera it was a masterpiece of automotive cinematography.
Personally I would have prepared a VBOX overlay so you can analyse the Run, Instead of just being presented a time at the end, but well done Pagani for another well deserved sub 7minute run.

Pagani Zonda Tricolore – Geneva Pictures 2010
Posted by: | CommentsThese are the latest pictures from the Geneva Motorshow. It has been built to commend the 50th anniversary of the Italian ‘Frecce Tricolori’ which is the equivalent to the UK Red Arrows.
The Zonda Tricolore is based on the Zonda Cinque coupe, using the same special carbonfibre weaved with titanium wire for the construction of its tub, and an automated paddle-shift gearbox. The exterior of the Tricolore is in blue laquer coating which looked as good as the blue carbon on the veyron.
The Tricolore differs from the Zonda Cinque by not having the air-intake snorkel fitted to feed the engine with air – instead there’s a small, vertical fin on top of the engine cover, presumably to help link the looks of the Zonda Tricolore to the jet used by the Frecce Tricolori team.
There are also unique LED running lights at the front, shaped to look like the tail fin of a plane and ‘Frecce Tricori’ mimicking strips, beginning either side of the nose of the car and then running the full the length of the car.
It is priced at 1.3M Euros, making it £1,360,000 not sure if it includes 12 months road tax.
